Social and Cultural Events
February 2013
February 15/16 - Pantomime - Due to unforeseen circumstances, this year's pantomime has been cancelled.
March 2013
March 9 - RTA - The Nightingale of South Bank
The last R.T.A. musical show at the end of November was received with universal enthusiasm and appreciation. Witty, professional, fast-paced with amusing inter-action with the audience, the two glamorous singers from London gave us beautiful renditions of Christmas songs and unknown vintage melodies. It truly was an evening which delighted the audience. Those who didn’t come missed out on a great evening!
The next R.T.A. show at Mollington & Backford Village Hall will be at 7.30 pm on Saturday, March 9th. After enjoying cabaret 1940’s style in the last show, we will be moving into the world of Grand Opera in this production. Famous arias from well-known operas will be sung by Helena Leonard as she tells us more about the fascinating story of a late nineteenth century opera singer – Florence Easton – “The Nightingale of South Bank” - who in her day was very well known both here and abroad.
